For you Jo!!!

OK, so I missed the one year anniversary...but I'm blogging now so all is well. This little occurrence is really just for Jo. Because she asked me too.

But since I'm in here I might as well say something. Here in Indiana, we are still coming out of our lovely blizzard days and now we all have to go back to classes. (boo, hiss). But I suppose I'll be alright since it is only one day and then the weekend again. The "blizzard" has been kind of fun. Becky and I decided it would be an adventure to walk to the store to get some ingredients for this Thai food we wanted to make. It was indeed. Braving all of that snow pelting us in the face and trying not to get run over by the silly cars that were driving in it. When we'd made it back to our apartment, we felt like we'd made a real accomplishment.

OK, since classes are back on, I now have to leave for four of them. Stay cool.

Oodalolly, oodalolly, golly what a day!

Can i just say thank goodness for France friends? So today has been one (probably THE) worst day of the semester for various reasons, and then I checked my mailbox and there was a Valentine's day card there from my friend Maggie that I met in France. It was such a little thing, but it's been such a happy moment in my day. So thank you, Maggie.

Today I had three quizzes and a test and I decided I had to quit orchestra, etc. Anyhoo, desk shift is over. Gotta go.

Blessings,
zay

The end is near

So, it's friday and I have less than a week left in France and am facing my last weekend. What's a girl to do? Hmmm...France, weekend....I know! Write a paper! Yes, I will be spending a good chunk of this weekend writing a paper about Louis XIV and Versailles. But at least I'll be profiting (educationally) from the time. And that's really the reason I'm here anyway. Plus, there's not much money or desire left for travelling anywhere.

Hmmm...my last week.

But this week has been really good. Tuesday night some peeps from my church took me out for dinner to celebrate my birthday (even though it's not until the 23rd, but I won't be in the country), and Kathy (from Ireland, but she lives in France now) cut my hair. The new coiff (French) is very interesting. I kind of freaked out when I saw it, but I'm slowly getting used to it. But thank goodness it's only hair. Life goes on. Then we all went back to Kathy's apartment and hung out until like 2am and then I cried when I left, cuz I probably won't see them again. Although, I shouldn't say that, because really you never know what God will do.

Anyhoo, before I REALLY start rambling I'm going to go home and work on a paper before dinner...then I'm going to say good-bye to yet another friend that I will probably never see again...My poor little emotions just can't take much more!

HOME HOME HOME HOME

WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! I'm coming home soon! 13 days...France is really cool and I've learned a lot here and made some great friends, but it's not home. I'm so excited to go home. Today I was looking through some pics from Taylor online, and I had to fight not to cry because it was so good just to see pics of everyone. I didn't even realize how much I missed everyone until I saw all of the pictures. This has been a really cool experience and I will never have another one like it, but I'm ready to be home.

My Mom sent me some Dr. Pepper and I let the kids at my house try it and they really liked it. They'd never had it before, because it doesn't really exist here. But I think I'm going to leave some with them when I leave, because I can always drink it any time I want when I get back home in a couple of weeks, but they'll only get it if another American happens to get some the next time around.

Anyhoo, I'm gonna jet (Peak, you're contagious). I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Je suis folle

I'm going crazy. I'm good, but I'm pretty sure I'm going crazy.

The end of my time here in France seems to be coming quickly, but at the same time, oh so slowly. I have too many things left here that I want to do, but at the same time all I want to do is go home. Je suis folle. C'est sûr.

But on the upside, I saw the fourth Harry Potter. It was in French, but everyone spoke relatively slowly so I understood most of it, except for when Fou Oeil (Mad-Eye Moody) was talking. His voice was too low, and I just couldn't catch what he was saying.

Anyhoo, I'm going to head back to chez moi and drink some hot tea and sit in my cold room and practice my rented cello.

Blessings!

Hello World!

Hola! So I know it's been forever since I've blogged, but frankly it's because I just never know what to say. So if there's anything anyone's been wondering about, please let me know, because then maybe I'll blog more often.

Well, I bought my ticket the other day from Tours (where I'm living) to the airport in Paris (that would be Charles de Gaulle who was one of the big-shot generals for France in WWII-yes! I am learning stuff over here!) for December when I leave this crazy little country. I'm still not really sure how I feel about leaving here yet, but I try not to think about it too much and just try to make the most of the little time I have left. Although, I am looking forward to going home-to see people? sure, why not? but here's the list of things I'm really looking forward to : P

-Dr. Pepper (awhole 2-liter, and I'm not sharing. so don't ask)
-a shower-that is, a real shower, like one that has walls or even a curtain would be nice
-Wendy's jr. bacon w/cheese mmmm....cheeseburger....bacon, real bacon, not lardon
-warm interiors-people have heaters here, but I'm not sure they've learned how to use them, and I'm lucky enough that the radiator in my room is actually the broken one in the house
-my cell phone....oh, my cell phone
-getting to have my little Rosie when I get back...maybe I should change her name to Mel...
-English!
-hugs!!
-soup with chunks in it
-smiling at strangers and having them smile back
-WAL-MART, gotta love those low prices

And I'm sure there are other things for the list, but there are things that I'm going to miss about France, too, I'm sure-like....ummmm....well, yeah, maybe I'll work on that list another day. Just kidding, I really will miss stuff here. Mostly my church and the friends I've made here. And the cheese. Honestly, I'll miss the cheese. I hear you aren't supposed to take cheese back, but maybe I can feign (how doo yoo sppel thatt eniewae?) ignorance. I'm a pretty innocent looking kid.

Anyway, I'm going to go now because I have a life and other things to do besides stand here and blog all day. So be glad I blogged, and everyone leave me messages saying how glad they are and how much they love me and we'll call it even.

Blessings!
